Students who ride their bikes to school should follow the school rules to keep them safe. Students should get off their bikes and walk them once they are on school property. Students should never ride their bikes into traffic and should always use the crosswalks. Students should lock their bikes to prevent theft. The school is not responsible to lost or stolen bikes.
Please help our staff keep your child safe during the busy pick-up and drop off times. Students should ideally be dropped off outside the gym doors on Pekin Street and exit from the car onto the curb so that they do not have to cross the street. All students should use the crosswalks when crossing the streets. Please do not ask your child to cross the street in the middle of the street to get to your car. This puts them in danger and requires them to break the rules the teachers are asking them to follow. If we work together, we can keep all our students safe.
PTO
Washington-Monroe Parent Teacher Organization would love for you to join us. We are planning a new meeting schedule for this year. Low attendance at the evening meetings has led us to try a new time. The first meeting will be Tuesday, September 6th at 3:15pm. Parents do not have to attend meetings to be a part of the PTO. Sign-up sheets for events will be available at the open house and cook out.
